asta"I'm Alex, that's Shish, and this is the Taste Adventure." With that, Chef/owner Alex Crabb explained the name of the Back Bay’s newest culinary star. Crabb (a L'Espalier alum) and co-owner Shish Parsigian provided guests with a comprehensive introduction to their labor of love, stopping to answer questions about the edgy, modern fare and hip environs. Guests watched the open kitchen at work, and the friendly kitchen staff delivered numerous surprise bites to the table: an amuse of "rooftop radishes" from Dorchester was a tasty display of the kitchen's commitment to local sourcing, while Campari-poached rhubarb provided a delightful pre-dessert touch. For a young chef, Crabb has quite the resume, most notably having staged at the French Laundry and Copenhagen’s Noma. Sommelier Paige Farrell (formerly of Menton) wowed everyone with truly inspired beverage pairings that ran the gamut from cloudy Junmai sake to a surprisingly delicate Greek wine.
